Illegal alien released by sanctuary city Portland goes on to rape woman; insane Left rejoices

Leftists in America have an incredibly warped sense of loyalty and justice, as evidenced by an extremely sad case in the sanctuary city of Portland involving a criminal illegal alien and a heinous crime against an unsuspecting woman.

As reported by local NBC affiliate KGW, a repeat illegal immigrant who was released from custody in 2016 subsequently broke into the home of a 65-year-old woman, raped her and then stole her car before leading police on a chase.

Worse, Portland authorities never notified federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents that the suspect, 31-year-old Sergio Jose Martinez, had even been released, as local police are required to do under certain federal statutes and grant authorities via the Justice Department.

Martinez, a serial border-jumper, had been deported 20 times in the past, the local affiliate reported. Also, he’s got at least five parole violations for continually re-entering the U.S. illegally. He has remained a transient in the Portland area for more than a year, which supports U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ claim last week when announcing a financial crackdown on sanctuary cities that criminal aliens tend to congregate there, so they don’t draw attention from local police.

Sessions addressed the issue of illegal aliens last month as well in a speech to a group of law enforcement officials. (Related: In California, illegal immigrants are getting driver’s licenses — are they voting too?)

“When cities like Philadelphia, Boston or San Francisco advertise that they have these policies, the criminals take notice,” Sessions told the officers who gathered at a Las Vegas conference center. “According to a recent study from the University of California Riverside, cities with these policies have more violent crime on average than those that don’t.”

“We all know the story of Kate Steinle, who was murdered in cold blood two years ago this month,” Sessions stated. “She was walking a pier in San Francisco with her father when an illegal alien—who had been deported five times and committed seven felonies—shot her in the back.”

“Her death was preventable—and it should have been prevented. She would still be alive today if her killer had been imprisoned or deported, as he should have been,” he said. “He walked the streets freely because San Francisco refuses to cooperate with ICE. In fact, he admitted that one reason he was in San Francisco that day was that he knew the city had these policies in place.”

Count Portland as one of these cities. The local NBC affiliate noted further:

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged an immigration detainer against Martinez, asking authorities to notify them before releasing Martinez to allow ICE to take him into custody. The Department of Homeland Security said a detainer was requested for Martinez in December 2016, but he was released into the community and authorities did not notify ICE.

And earlier this year, the affiliate noted, Multnomah County officials along with Sheriff Mike Reese said in a letter to the community, “The Sheriff’s Office does not hold people in county jails on ICE detainers or conduct any immigration enforcement actions.”

No, of course not; they would much rather spite President Trump than actually protect the community from illegal alien criminals.

The odd thing is that Leftists are supposed to be all about “women’s rights,” “women’s equality,” “protection of women” from the alleged “rape culture,” like they claim exists on college campuses. But because they hate Trump more and reject the law of the land, they are perfectly okay with their own citizens getting raped, tortured and killed.

Prior to his alleged sexual assault, Martinez was convicted of felony burglary plus three misdemeanor convictions for battery, theft and obstructing a public officer. Now he’s facing first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree robbery, first-degree sex abuse, first-degree sodomy and first-degree burglary.

But hey, at least authorities in Portland and Multnomah County won’t have to incarcerate him for being in the country illegally.
