Jacksonville shooter who turned violent after losing tourney was NOT a member of “anti-Trump resistance”

Monday, August 27, 2018 by

The Madden NFL gamer who killed two people and wounded 11 others before turning his gun on himself Sunday was a self-described anti-POTUS Donald Trump actually not a member of the “resistance” who referred to the president’s supporters as “Trumptards.” It turns out the initial reports claiming that he was were not accurate.

That said, David Katz, 24, was reportedly ticked off at losing in the gaming tournament in Jacksonville, Fla., and he did what other violent Left-wing lunatics have increasingly been doing in the age of POTUS Trump: He attacked innocent people.

“Today’s mass shooter was a member of the Resistance who referred to Trump supporters as ‘trumptards,’ a review of his reddit history reveals,” independent journalist Mike Cernovich tweeted late Sunday, apparently before he realized the person he identified as such was not the same one. Cernovich has since deleted his tweet.

Not all Left-wing opponents of the president are domestic terrorists, but all domestic terrorists these days seem to be Left-wing opponents of the president and his supporters, even if Katz wasn’t an avowed #resistance member. Antifa, It’s Going Down, and other anarchist groups come to mind.

And by the way, the “domestic terrorism” label isn’t coming from us; it came from none other than President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security and FBI.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, a Reddit page first believed to be Katz’s but later identified as someone else is “littered with anti-Trump garbage.”

One passage read, “You trumptards seriously can never stop amazing everyone with how mentally challenged you guys are.”

Another said, “We can’t hate our rivals? Makes sense.”

The U.K.’s Daily Mail reported that Katz killed two fellow gamers – Taylor “SpotMePlzzz” Roberson, 27, of Ballard, W. Va., and Eli “Trueboy” Clayton, 22, of Woodland Hills, Calif.

Katz was reportedly married and had a young son. And apparently, he was pretty good at Madden NFL gaming, having won 13 of his 18 previous matches, EA Sports said. Police said he was from Baltimore – which many believed initially that made sense because they believed his Reddit name was “ravenchamps,” a reference to the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens.

A live stream video caught a red laser dot appearing on Clayton’s chest before he was shot.

Democrats need to step up and denounce the irrational anger among THEIR supporters

Now, even though Katz was misidentified as a Left-wing anarchist, that doesn’t change the fact that Democrats have failed to step up and disavow the increasingly violent anti-Trump “resistance” movement. Will they, or do you think they’ll simply continue to ignore or incite it? The answer should be obvious since, as of this writing, the only words out of the mouths of Democrats is “more gun control!” – not ‘more violent Leftist lunatic control.’

Beginning in 2016 with POTUS Trump’s campaign and into his first and second years in office, the Left has been increasingly unhinged. We jokingly refer to it as “Trump Derangement Syndrome” because it’s much easier to jubilantly dismiss such behavior than face the reality that it’s becoming a larger threat to the civil society in general.

We have to remember that there is a social contract that exists in civilized nations between the people, their leaders, and those appointed to uphold the law and maintain order. The Left has been openly encouraging its supporters to violate that agreement in pursuit of political objectives; power and control are more important to Democrats than maintaining and nurturing a healthy society and ordered liberty.

Political disagreements are one thing, but when you hate for the sake of hating because you allow yourself to be consumed by it, that’s dangerous – not just for those around you but for society in general, if that level of hate is allowed to fester and spread.

There was never any indication that Katz was motivated to kill in Jacksonville because he can’t stand President Trump. And we’re not saying that, obviously.

What we are saying, however, is that if one’s hatred of political opponents is so visceral and all-consuming, that makes them much more volatile and that their irrational hatred is much more likely to manifest itself in an equally irrational act of violence.

It’s happened before. Just ask Rep. Steve Scalise.
