Leftist David Hogg has gone from anti-gun protester to extortion artist with “die-in” protest at Publix supermarket that backfired

There is a reason why official U.S. policy has been to never pay ransom to a foreign government or terrorist organization in order to get American citizens back.

It’s because paying ransoms only encourages more kidnappings.

Mind you, Barack Obama blew up that policy when he delivered $400 million in cash to the Iranian government aboard a cargo plane in the middle of the night during his final year in office — in violation of U.S. law — to get back four Americans Tehran was holding.

And sure enough, after the payment was made Iran kidnapped more Americans.

That policy came to mind after news broke that anti-gun Parkland school shooting survivor-turned extortionist David Hogg announced he was staging a “die-in” at a Publix grocery store last week because the chain donates to political candidates supported by the NRA.

Now mind you, Publix is likely donating to candidates not supported by the NRA as well because playing both sides of the political aisle is what corporations must do in order to be ‘left alone’ by meddling lawmakers who seek to impose more regulatory costs on their industry.

But beyond that, young Mr. Hogg is learning the Marxist Democratic way rather quickly, which is to punish those who do not agree with you by attacking their First Amendment rights and harming the manner in which they earn a living.

The Daily Wire reported:

Hogg and other far-left activists laid on the floor of the grocery store for 720 seconds – which Hogg falsely claimed is a second for each mass shooting that has happened in the U.S. since the Pulse nightclub massacre – and screamed for a boycott of the store.

The boycott came after it was revealed that the grocery store had donated money to a politician in the past who had described himself as a major advocate for the NRA and the Second Amendment.

The chain caved to Hogg’s extortion, vowing to end making political donations to any political candidates — which drew no shortage of outrage and contempt from political figures and ordinary Americans who think bullies like Hogg and his Democratic cronies are the outliers in society, not the NRA which, by the way, is responsible for zero mass murders. The unintended consequences of bullying

“I can’t understand why Publix would cave to such misguided and unfair complaints. The protests against Publix are ridiculous — who the heck wants people laying down in a supermarket? Shopping won’t be a pleasure if left-wing agitators get their way. I’ll always stand up for #2A!” tweeted U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla.

“We are all sickened by what happened at Stoneman-Douglas  High School in #Parkland, FL,  but @Publix don’t be held hostage and blackmailed by publicity stunts and misdirected disruptive activism. #PublixDieIn,” wrote someone critical of the staged event.

“Way to give in to bullying @publix Not shopping there ever again,” wrote someone else.

The fact that Publix caved to this extortion only means that more companies will be targeted in the future once Hogg and the Marxists who are using him to foment ‘resistance’ and ‘revolution.’ And the pattern will continue until companies get “brave” enough to defend their actions.

But in the meantime, there will also be collateral damage to causes that the Left champions as well.

When Publix announced it would stop funding political candidates and causes, that included cutting off funds to the YWCA, which is a member of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence — a group that opposes “Stand Your Ground” and concealed carry laws.

YWCA also supports same-sex marriage.

Publix has also contributed to United Way, which in turn funds some Planned Parenthood clinics.

Way to go, Hogg.
